Travel through your hyperglycemic dream to its end.

Initially created as a game  for https://itch.io/jam/beginners-circle-jam-2 , theme=candy.

Made with godot 3.2.3, linux and mac builds not tested.

Has more game mechanics than actual content.

Sounds made with Audacity and my mic, some 3d assets are godot's CSG thingies with simple materials, some are made with blender 2.90, some textures created/edited with gimp, some with built-in blender's texture paint feature.

Changing game genre do 'adventure' still it still has no survival mechanics. I hope it's ok. In worst case it's replacing one wrong genre with another.

Web version is outdated. Unfortunately, the features I've added to the game are not exportable to web because of godot limitations.

Hey. I recorded a video about the Beginners Circle jam and included your game in it. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game.

It was a lot of fun to drive the car but as some others said if the car had more weight to it, driving would feel much better.

Thanks for the feedback.

Does driving feel much better?

such good game for a gamejam i really liked it.

few things i think are.

the fall takes a long time to restart so i think u could decrease a little bit

and the text for hints or goals etc could be big since everyone play on pc.

you could add some bumpyness to terrain or maybe the platforms we jump on at the start so the players would feel challenging.

positives:

the 3d modles are really good, mainly the car.

the game dont need any changes in particular this works well all together. i kinda lost the car in mid way but finished it.

Thanks for reviewing the game.

Good points, I've adjusted the game to be better based on them.

Abyss fall detection now should be triggered faster, and resetting position should work better, including new sound effects.

Hud text will now resize together with the window, so for big viewports you'll have proportionally big text.

About loosing the car in mid way... not sure how it happened for you, however I've added a hint that ENTER will reset the car position even if the player is not in it, returning it to the last moment when it was on the ground. Together with better player position reset it should eliminate unexpected prolonged walking exercises.

As for the jumpiness.... I've added it, however I'm not sure about the result. Actually, I think it's more challenging for the code than for a player... but maybe it's still fun.

I lost the car because of myself. I midway exited the car.

And when i said bumpyness i meant bumps to terrain. At the big circle in between like another small circle where we can jump just so it would make the empty space balanced.

I did not thought u would take it that way lol

Ah, ok. I guess my english played a trick on me, mixed bumpiness with bounciness... Now I understand what you meant. Yeah, making empty space more interesting is definitely a need, now you can't even see that you car is going about 100km/h because there are no small stationary things around, and gathering things in a more abundant vertical variety of platforms with already existing jump mechanics would be much more fulfilling.  However just throwing random objects around wouldn't work, it needs thinking, so... it just fell out of scope. Definitely no time to complete that before the jam deadline.
